Spoke'n Tales
Joe Ryan is a filmmaker, storyteller, and explorer who travels the world on a motorbike. Joe captures the unadulterated beauty, culture, and passion of life on the road by documenting his globe adventure across continents, from isolated mountain passes to busy city streets, motivated by a great curiosity for people and places. His journeys are more than just a reflection of his passion for motorcycles; they represent a quest for creativity, meaning, and connection via movement and dialogue.
Joe encourages people to slow down, take a deeper look, and embrace the freedom of travel by sharing tales that honour craftsmanship, resiliency, and the human spirit. Whether camping under vast desert skies or sharing meals with strangers-turned-friends, Joe’s journey is a living narrative about purpose, perspective, and the enduring power of the road to bring the world and people together.
Brought to you by Royal Enfield; come and hear Joe's story at the festival.
Miles Davis is a highly respected figure in Australian motorcycling, known for his long association with BMW Motorrad as an Ambassador, off-road instructor, and former National Marketing Manager from 2006 to 2017. Renowned for pushing BMW GS adventure bikes far beyond what most riders consider possible, Miles has helped redefine perceptions of large-capacity adventure machines in extreme terrain. His most famous achievement came in 2017 when he completed the notoriously brutal Finke Desert Race aboard a BMW R 1200 GS, proving the durability and capability of the GS platform under race conditions. Today, he continues to play a key role in the adventure riding community, leading BMW Safari events across Australia and delivering advanced rider training clinics. Through his instruction, demonstrations, and storytelling, Miles inspires riders to build confidence, skill, and respect for both machine and environment while exploring the limits of adventure motorcycling.
